Windy Flat was a world I put together for my favorite sims in TS2. A lot of them were conversions from my TS1 game because I wanted to keep those sims alive. I spent hours on this town, making new sims families and having a blast building up the town. Then along came my story telling and these sims were tucked away for another time.
Then came TS3, and of course I slowly converted my sims for this too. Always starting with dear old Micky Dimms. (pictured with daughter Kitty.)

He was modeled after one of our cats, who was rather thuggish and had a squashed in nose. Although Micky the sim was always nice. After him came the rest and I would drop them into various games and watch there antics. It is only now that the game has progressed that I had the idea of rebuilding there actual world. The TS2 version was rather spars.

With CAW, I set out recreating my town with visions of making bigger and better than the original.

I was really pleased with it as it came together and it started to look like a town.

Through the generosity of a lot here and at CT I was able to fill my world with housing.

Since then I have been steadily plugging away, building community lots and dressing the world. I still have one pub and the park to finish. I also want to build a dog park and a small nectary too, that will probably be it for Comm lots, except for a couple more fishing spots, which are easy to put together. I still have to finish four of my reconstructed houses and start building 3 more. I am a bit over building at the moment. :wacko:/>
Yesterday I set all my sims routing and started on the ruins of the old fishing wharfs. I have kept to the theme of the original story I had for this town. Because my made sims never had parents I had a disaster destroy the town, that's why all my sims are orphans. When Windy Flat was rebuilt they all came home. hence all the ruins and old broken wharf. When this if finished I will probably post the story along with it too.

What the town currently looks like. (I took most of the houses out to make the saves quicker.)

Still so much to do but it is getting there.

It's coming together nicely, Rose - well more than nicely. It is looking great. The story rings a bell. I seem to remember it with all the orphans. That's a great idea and explains a lot of things about sims in general, but is a great start for a story. http://bearmtncreations4sims3.com/public/style_emoticons/default/giggle.gif I do remember your Micky though I am probably thinking of the TS2 version.

Looks good Rose. I also love your back story going all the way back to TS1. I only played it for a few weeks and gave up because I was so naive I didn't know about patches. I had the box set of the game since it was already so over. Then I bought TS2 and never looked back. Great idea to transition you characters to TS3. :thumbsu:/>

That's the new criminal career rabbit hole, they did a great job on it I think, it fits in well with my town.
Winnie just had some great ideas about a broken sea wall, I think I can do that. I also want to put in a lighthouse.
I think the next step will be pulling my builds and finishing them in Rich's build world, I want to put the rest of the housing back in so I can blend it into the landscape.

I also found the celebrity trailers in CAW. Does any one know if these will work not being on a lot?

They do work without being in a lot. I put one out in the boondocks in BMB and had a couple try it. :Smile:/>

Well now all I have to do is not over stuff it. I have been clustering all the trees together as you suggested and don't have too many paint layers.

Trif's Fisherman's roost looks perfect behind the fishing park.

I think I am done now with my ruins and swamp. Just a bit more painting now, I think.

It's looking great, Rose. I love getting the peek into the building process and being able to watch it transform as you add more detail. You have a winner here for sure.

Thanks everyone. I have been putting in some hard hours into this. Today I finished the dog park and started the sloped beach lot I wanted to try. This is one of those seat of your pants projects, I have no idea how it will turn out I am just making it up as I go along.

This may changed. I am not too happy with the top floor, might try and go down one more level, if I can figure out how.

That looks a very interesting and challenging design, Rose. I wish I could think up stuff like that. My houses will forever remain boxes I think.http://bearmtncreations4sims3.com/public/style_emoticons/default/tonguewag.gif

I like that building. I never could get the hang of building on anything other that a flat lot. When you get done you should do a little tutorial on how you did it.
