Hello everyone, it's very quiet round here at the moment! I think everyone must be Drakensanging.

I have set myself the task of organising my sim houses. I have been updating some of the furniture with stuff from newer SPs. I thought maybe I can spend enough time organising pixels to avoid the real life Spring cleaning that should really take precedence :D/>

I thought I might post some pictures of the houses that I use most often. They are very simple in style but I enjoy decorating houses. So here's one from my Blue Urban range (I like blue houses and to plant lots of trees around them). The Urban houses are so named because they look good in towns or the suburbs of cities, but in more rural areas they suit if you plant things round them to soften them a little.

These pictures were taken in Peculiar Place, an island made by BluebellFlora, so she must be held responsible for any attractive views from the windows. Caspin the sim has lived in each house so she will be giving the tour.

Here is Tall Blue Urban. It's a ridiculously tall house with a pointy roof on a very tiny lot. Daft really but I like it.

I put in massive windows and the most see-through staircases I had, so there is lots of natural light and the views across the bay are super from the top of the house. Down on the ground floor is the kitchen. Most of these photos were taken at night and the track lighting is set to dim, that's how I prefer it:

On the first floor is a bedroom with sofa:

Then right at the top is a work space or office with a balcony. Caspin spends a lot of time pottering about up there very happily :)

Today Caspin Real Estate bring you Medium Blue Urban. The clue is in the name :D/>

This was a house built for a couple with room for their first child. It fits on a small lot (10x15) so it's fairly versatile, but if you put it on a larger lot you could add a nice playgroud for the growing family or a big garden if your sims like playing with soil. Over to you Caspin the Sim for the photoshoot.

This is an overview of the house, again the lovely background courtesy of Bluebell's pretty island.

Medium Blue Urban matches Tall Blue Urban in terms of colours and style because sometimes it's nice to group houses on a street that look as though they were built at the same time. Sometimes. Anyway, outside there is a little patio for barbecuing. The kids can play out there (stops them dropping paint all over the kitchen table at least). Caspin isn't just standing at a weird angle, she's using the mail box while helpfully obscuring it from view.

This is the entrance to the house, planted up with brightly coloured shrubs and flowers to shield the door from the street and make it quieter.

Inside on the ground floor is a family shower room, plus an open-plan living space including a large kitchen. While Tall Blue Modern was decorated in a very modern city-style for young professionals, this house is lighter and more family-friendly. Here's Caspin having lunch in the kitchen. There is space for extra seats around the table or for more appliances on the counters if needed.

There is also room for living furniture and an area is set aside currently for sitting and reading or chatting.

Up the stairs there is enough room on the landing for a continuation of the living space, with more sofas and bookshelves. It could be used for a home office if a desk was added in place of a sofa. I split the living space so that parents and kids can get away from each other for a while :)

The master bedroom has a grown-up look with mulberry painted walls and a comfortable bed:

The master bedroom has ensuite bathroom so mum and dad can escape and lie in the bath when it all gets too much. Or so Caspin can brush her teeth and gaze out of the window.

Finally this is the single room, decorated for off-spring. Complete with startling cartoon animal prints, lol. A wooden toy box and a few stuffed animals are already in place. Easily turned into a temporary nursery for babies and toddlers while they wait to be big enough to play here.

That is all for now folks.

This evening I'd like to share the smallest house in the Blue Urban collection - Bijou Blue Urban. It's just a little cabin really, suitable for a starter home or for a student or bachelor pad. The bed is a double so a couple could live here as long as they are on very friendly terms :)

Attached Image: monthly_05_2012/post-708-0-86176600-1337445037.jpg

It is on a 10x10 and is a studio-style room with a separate shower room. The windows are fun, I think, with a ladder appearance.

This is the back of the property, where there is space for bike racks and plants. Behind Caspin the sim you can see a patch of soil, I usually plant some seeds there so the residents can gain some gardening skill.

Attached Image: monthly_05_2012/post-708-0-37117700-1337445045.jpg

Round the front there is a porch and just enough room for a bench so sims can escape the confines of the cabin and sit outside on nice days. It's shame that lemonade isn't real.

Inside the kitchenette is mini but perfectly functional.

And finally, take a break from the blue because this bedroom area is red and cream, with a Japanese theme in the decor.

caspin, your houses all look very well made and beautifully furnished. :clapping:/>

ATM, I am taking a break from sims. I do play Drakensang when time permits, but hubby has decided we need a garden this year. sigh...
His gardens are usually a half acre and loaded with whatever he thinks will be tasty. (translates to more work for me) :notfair:/> :ohcrap:/>

Raven, thank you for your kind words :) Best of luck with the 'garden', sounds more like a farm!

This morning I thought I'd add the Blue Urban Artist's Residence. Unlike the general-use houses above, this is built with a specific sim in mind, namely the town artist.

The simple, modern style is the same as the rest of the Blue Urban houses, and built once again on a small lot, but this time there is a basement and a section devoted to artistic pursuits. I sent Caspin the sim to look around, but don't worry she won't be showing off any of her own art, don't want to give anyone nightmares :D/>

This house is a paler blue that the others, more of a blue-gray, to give a bit of contrast if used all together in the neighbourhood, and to help me find the specific-use houses from the general homes. These photos were taken at dusk. I have used a rather funky geometric door and put in an arched feature window above. The geometric patterns continue indoors. Around the house is space for an outdoor bench, some recycling facilities and some light planting in cheerful blue and pink.

Let's start at the top and work down.

This is the back of the house, where you can see that there are steps leading up to a roof terrace equipped with chairs for sitting and thinking creative thoughts, and an easel for capturing them on canvas. Through the door from the terrace you arrive in an art gallery, with a drafting table for your artist or architect sim to make their sketches, and a stretch of blank wall illuminated by track lighting and spotlights for the purpose of displaying your masterpieces.

If you take the steps down from the terrace, you arrive in the bedroom. This is decorated in bold but pretty colours.

There is a mirror here that appears to lack glass (it does have glass normally but refuses to be photographed thus). Perhaps that's why Caspin is freaking out. Loony sim.

Take the stairs down from the bedroom and you find yourself on the ground floor, which is mostly kitchen-dining. I went for a dark blue and cream retro-look kitchen. Caspin may or may not have stolen those chairs from a diner.

On this floor you will also find the bathroom, decorated simply in black and white tile.

At the far end of the ground floor, opposite the kitchen, is a bit of space. Sometimes I set this up as a home office with a desk but it is also fun to install a bar. Then your artist can invite their friends and neighbours in for a drinks party and they can go up to the studio to check out the latest work.

Finally, one more flight of steps down and we are in the basement, where we find a bit of luxury in the form of an indoor pool. Presumably the artist made a big sale at some point to fund this! The pool room is tiled in gray and includes an extra shower unit.

Caspin, these are lovely. I like them all but I think my favorite is the first one.
